Getting started on iPLAY: accounts, payment options, and what you can play

If you’re over 18, located in West Virginia, and have been meaning to try playing the West Virginia Lottery online but haven’t got around to setting up an account yet, this is the straightforward guide you need. iPLAY is the official platform for the WV Lottery, and getting started is a fairly quick process once you know what’s involved.

Here’s everything you need to know about accounts, payments, and the online draw games in West Virginia available through iPLAY.

Who can play on iPLAY?

To play on iPLAY, you need to be at least 18 years old and physically located within West Virginia at the time of play. You’ll also need a verified iPLAY account. The platform uses location verification to confirm you’re inside state lines before any purchase goes through – it’s a legal requirement, not a technical glitch.

Setting up your account

Head to wvlottery.com or download the WVL app to get started. iPhone users can find it in the App Store. Android users need to download it directly from the WVL.

You’ll need to provide some basic personal information and verify your identity before your account is active. Once that’s done, you can deposit funds, browse games, and manage everything from one place.

Payment options on iPLAY

iPLAY accepts debit cards and PayPal. PayPal was added as a payment option more recently, giving you more flexibility on how you fund your account.

You can also set player-controlled deposit limits directly through your account settings. With this, you can decide in advance how much you want to deposit over a given period, keeping your budget in check without having to think about it each time you play.

What draw games can you play on iPLAY?

iPLAY gives you access to a solid range of draw games. The current lineup includes:

POWERBALL© – draws Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday. Pick five numbers from one to 69 and one POWERBALL© number from one to 26. $2 per play, with an optional $1 Power Play add-on.

Useful features on iPLAY

Once you’re set up, a few features are worth knowing about. Auto-Renewal lets you schedule recurring ticket purchases for your preferred draw game so you don’t miss a draw. Jackpot Chase – also called Jackpot Threshold Auto Renewal – automatically purchases a ticket when a jackpot reaches a threshold you set yourself. It’s available on POWERBALL©, MEGA MILLIONS®, and LOTTO AMERICA©.

You can also save favourite ticket combinations, check past results, and receive prize notifications through your account.

Every ticket purchased on iPLAY contributes to Education, Seniors, Tourism, and Veterans across West Virginia – the same as buying in-store.
