One of the most popular gaming devices that has taken over a large majority of the market is Microsoft’s Xbox. With the Xbox 360 becoming one of the fastest-growing games consoles from this company with a total of over 84 million units sold, this paved the way for other successes such as the Xbox One and Xbox One S and X additions. With other competitors such as Sony’s Play Station and the Nintendo platform, the success of console gaming is undeniable. With ground-breaking graphics and outstanding operating speeds, console gaming has seen many worldwide successes such as the Call of Duty franchise, Super Mario Bros and Minecraft which have all seen millions of copies sold.

Mobile Gaming

When faced with the question of which the most popular gaming device is for gamers on a daily basis, there is no denying that the mobile phone is a definite contender. With phones specially built just for mobile gaming as well as hardware additions such as a water-cooling system in the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus, there is no surprise that this is becoming the most popular way of playing games. One of the main benefits of playing on mobile is that you can play a range of games on the go. Whether you are playing your favourite puzzle game such as Candy Crush or you are playing the latest AR title Wizards Unite, there is a title for everyone to enjoy.

PC gaming came into fruition in the early 1980s long before graphics cards and other hardware was created. Though there have been consoles that have come and gone such as the Ps Vita and the Nintendo Virtual Boy and the Wii U there have been a number of recent successes such as the Nintendo Switch that have taken over the market set to sell approximately 32.27 million units at this stage.  

With this in mind, there are a number of amazing games consoles that are set to make their way onto the market in 2020 such as Microsoft’s Project Scarlet announced at 2019’s E3 convention as well as the Sony PlayStation 5 that is set to be released at some point in 2020. This is exciting times for gamers as there is increased possibilities as well as the potential for backward compatibility and cross-platform gaming on a number of leading titles.
