First Red Dead Redemption was one the best games of Rockstar, and for me, it was easily the GOTY of 2010. The game’s alive and interesting characters, simple yet intriguing storyline and superb gameplay rightfully won it a 95 Metacritic score but sadly, it never got released on PC.
We still do not know whether RDR2 will be released on PC or not, but considering GTA 5’s release on PC and fans’ pressure on Rockstar, we believe sooner or later it will come out on PC. GTA 5
GTA 5 is another Rockstar game. Grand Theft Auto series really need no introduction since the series is probably the biggest gaming franchise of all time and it got even bigger on GTA 5. It broke Guinness Records on sales and has been awarded multiple GOTY awards. In this open-world action game, you control the lives of 3 criminals. Singleplayer experience is nearly perfect: The world is big and alive, there is a lot of stuff to do, missions are original and well-designed, characters are brought to life with top-notch acting and the story is excellent.

L.A. Noire
On our second choice, we have another Rockstar masterpiece. On this open-world violent crime thriller, you take in the role of Cole Phelps, a detective trying to solve a series of murders. The game’s action is great, but its main focus is the interrogation scenes. The game has tremendous detail on the characters’ faces and you need to interrogate them correctly based on their mimics. The story, acting and the characters are excellent. In fact, they are so good that L.A. Noire became the first video game to be honored as an Official Selection by the Tribeca Film Festival.

Mafia 3
Mafia series has always been a competitor to the Rockstar’s open-world action games. After a story centered second game, we come to a more open world in Mafia 3 and take in the role of Lincoln Clay to get revenge and build a new criminal empire of our own. You can accomplish missions brutally with intense gunfights and visceral hand-to-hand combat or approach the situation stealthily. All these are accompanied with great cutscenes and good acting. The game has been criticized for lacking variation on quests but in this 1968’s New Orleans, it is really easy to lose yourself with its emotionally-charged social atmosphere which even tries to give you a feel of how racism was back then.

Max Payne 3
Max returns for one last time to face his Payne-ful past and shoot hundreds of bad guys while doing so. After the release of Max Payne 2, series took a long break but in the end, it was worth it. Just like previous entries on the series, Max Payne 3 places a bullet-time mechanic that is similar to Red Dead Redemption’s. The levels flow really well with this system and action never goes down due to great level design and different action events and different settings. The story is told in a linear way, but once you start playing it, you won’t want to quit it.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
The fifth entry on the famous RPG franchise was probably one of the most hyped games of the 21st century and we can safely say that it delivered. The vast open world is filled with secrets, side quests that are almost better than its main plot, different dungeons, puzzles, cities and random events. The basic-yet-fun combat and the freedom in skills and class combinations compliment these features, allowing for great replayability and really high playtime. On the PC, Skyrim is one of the most modded games of all time, so if you already spent 3000 hours on Skyrim, you can install hundreds of different mods to even further expand this masterpiece.

Borderlands 2
If you are a player like me that loves both FPS games and RPG games equally and wished for a great combination of both for years, Borderlands is probably your favorite franchise. In its second entry, the game got better in almost every aspect with better open-world levels, an infinite number of guns and even more dark-humor. It’s been a while since it got released so you can buy the game with its DLCs for a really low price and DLCs are really what makes this game to be honest. The main game is great, but its extra content for this game is probably the best DLC ever made for a video game.

Call Of Juarez: Gunslinger
The fourth entry in the CoJ franchise gives way to a less serious but more fun, arcade Wild West FPS. The game is made of 14 linear missions and includes a skill system. Every kill nets you some experience points that you can use to unlock various skills. When your meter is full, you can enter Concentration Mode which is a brief bullet time that will help you clear your enemies. Game’s story is told in a really funny and original way: Your character Silas Greaves recalls his adventures to a group in a saloon, which makes good material for some good humor.

Fallout: New Vegas
