Any game, old and new, should be entertaining to the player. You shouldn’t focus too much on performance or optimizing your character to the point you’re stressing out about it (unless that’s your priority), but knowing some tiny little tricks can make your WoW Vanilla game 100x better than without. These might be obvious for the veteran players yet crucial for newbies. These tips will improve your game experience to a T. Save yourself a bunch of effort and make your game as smooth and entertaining as possible with these easy-to-follow tips.
There are no rightkey binds, but choose what’s best for you. Maybe it’s even default settings, yet we recommend you don’t overlook this step. Also, there is an Autorun feature which makes your life a lot easier.
We’re not going to be covering all of them since it will obviously take up too much text and time. Be sure to check your own class’ tips on top of these that we’re going to mention to improve your gameplay significantly. In the end, the best tip is: play World of Warcraft Classic your way, the most fun way, and don’t let anyone dictate you how to play the game.

It’s Ok to Use Addons
Addons can save you so many nerves and time, and they improve your QOL – Quality of Life. For example, “Classic Quest Log” is a fantastic addon. In your quest log, all quests are color-coded by difficulty for your level.
- Red – too difficult
- Orange – manageable
- Yellow – doable
- Green – easy
- Gray – too easy (almost useless)
If almost all quests are red\orange in a particular zone, consider moving to another, easier one.
Two Easy Moneymaking Tips
When starting out, loot and sell everything literally. Do that until level 40, so you can have extra money for the mount. Learn what kind of class skills you vitally require and which you don’t need. Learning less important skills will be a waste of precious money you could spend on the mount. Like, you don’t need Ice Nova level 2. lso, a gathering profession when starting is a great gold farming asset.
Bags, More Bags!
Save your Linen cloth and find a Tailor that can craft your bags. Bag space is very limited in World of Warcraft Vanilla. It’s crucial to expand it to loot and sell more items. Get these 6 slot bags with your materials. Maybe tip your tailor, too, since bags cost a lot more from a vendor or the auction house.

Save Your Time Running
Until level 10, you have no rez sickness from resurrection at a Spirit Healer. This can save you time as opposed to corpse running. Speaking of running, consider dungeon runs ahead of time; they take up a lot of your time. Pick up quests for the dungeons to get the maximum out of a WoW Classic instance.
It’s Handy to Know Some Weird WoW Words
Older players might refer to the first alliance dungeon, DM, Deadmines, as VC after its final boss. DM was more often used for Dire Maul back in the day, so VC became common parlance.
- AH is the Auction House.
- LFG is Looking for Group.
- Mats – materials.
- Mobs – hostile NPCs (monsters).
- Trash or Trash Mobs are packs of mobs that brigade you in dungeons.
Attention Cloth Wearers!
Get a Wand. Wands crafted with Enchanting are much better than dropped Wands at the start. They do good damage and are comfortable to level with. They will save your life when you’re out of mana.
