The #1 how-to guide on connecting Airpods with a mac

While Apple designed Airpods to work seamlessly with iPhones, the wireless earbuds will also work with your Mac Computer just as well. You can even switch between the Noise Cancellation and Transparency modes, check your Airpods battery life, and change other settings from your Mac.

Here’s how to connect your Airpods to your Mac computer, and what to do when they won’t.

How to connect Airpods with a Mac

To connect your Airpods to a Mac, put your Airpods in the case and close it. On your Mac, go to System Preferences > Bluetooth and open your Airpods case. Then push and hold the button on your Airpods case and click connect when they appear in your list of Bluetooth devices.

-Put your Aipods in the case and close it. You will need to keep the Aipods in their case for a few seconds. Make sure your Airpods have sufficient battery life before trying to connect them.

-Then click the Apple logo in the top-left corner of your screen.

-Next, select System Preferences.

-Then click Bluetooth.

-Next, open your Airpods case near your Mac.

-Then press and hold the Setup button at the back of the Aipods case.

-Next, hold the button unti you see a blinking white light. You will see the LED light on the inside of the older Airpods case, or the front of the new Airpods pro case.

-Finally, click Connect when your Aipods appear in the list of your Bluetooth devices. If you don’t see your Airpods appear, make sure your Mac’s Bluetooth is on. To do this, click Turn Bluetooth On in the left sidebar of the Bluetooth window.

There are a few benefits of connecting your Airpods with a Mac. For starters, you can use the Airpods to make and receive phone calls from your Mac. You can also use your Mac to check the battery life of your Airpods, change their settings, or enable Noise Cancellation mode.

If you have a Mac with macOS Catalina or later, you can also use the Airpods to control your music. You can play, pause, and skip tracks without having to reach for your iPhone. To do this, open the Music app on your Mac and click the audio output button in the top-left corner of the window. Then select your Airpods from the drop-down menu.

Once you’ve connected your Airpods with your Mac, there are a few different ways you can use them.

-To make and receive phone calls from your Mac, open the FaceTime app and click the audio output button in the top-left corner of the window. Then select your Airpods from the drop-down menu.

-To use your Airpods to listen to music, open the Music app on your Mac and click the audio output button in the top-left corner of the window. Then select your Airpods from the drop-down menu.

-To use your AirPods to control your computer’s audio, open System Preferences and click Sound. Then select your Airpods from the Output Device drop-down menu.

-If you have a Mac with macOS Catalina or later, you can also use Siri on your Airpods to control your music. Just say “Hey Siri” followed by a command, such as “Play my workout playlist.”
