Uncharted 4 Naughty Dog is one of the best game developers today, and that is not open to discussion. Every single one of their game is a masterpiece on its own, and their Uncharted series is a testament to that fact. Uncharted 4 is the latest entry to the series and we come back as the infamous bounty hunter Drake for one last adventure.

The game carries all of the series’ trademark qualities: Gorgeous visuals and animations, Oscar-worthy actor performances, great characters and story and excellent gameplay. It is probably the best third-person action game to date with coming close to being a perfect video game that ticks all the boxes and can be a reason to buy a PS4 alone.

We have also written about some games like Uncharted, in case you want to see.

Hitman

Hitman The latest entry to the famous stealth game series was released episodically first, but now you can buy the whole first season at once. Once again, you travel the world to assassinate high-profile targets by creative means. The gameplay is slow and the maps are big; you have to approach every situation carefully through social interactions and keeping a low profile. It is a game that prioritizes gameplay, so do not expect much from the story but the gameplay is great and the missions are very replayable.

There are also elusive target missions that come out every few weeks. Elusive Target missions in hitman are unique; if the mission ends in any way, other than restarting, they cannot be attempted again and they only appear once. There are also community created challenges if you wish. It is a great stealth game that actually requires you to use your brain.

The Last of Us

The Last of Us Another Naughty Dog masterpiece, The Last of Us throws you into a world that is overrun by Cordyceps Brain Infection that turns people into zombie-like creatures. You control Joel, an old man that lost his daughter in the infection’s rising. You have a young partner, Ellie, that is believed to be an answer to the current infection. The relationship between these 2 characters is something we have never seen in video games before. It is extremely emotional, well-written and acted, and comes to life with Naughty Dog’s perfect graphics and animation work.

The gameplay is great too, with survival-horror mechanics that require stealth, crafting and resource management. The shooting mechanics and the way you can cooperate with Ellie during combat are perfectly designed, and you will want to replay the game on a higher difficulty after you’ve finished it.

The first game, Arkham Asylum was a huge success and its sequel, Arkham City, improved upon almost everything its predecessor brought to the table and was praised as one of the best video-games ever made with stunning visuals, characters, acting, and side-quests. Blacklist finally makes a comeback to the series’ core stealth gameplay while giving the option to go more aggressive and guns blazing. Both approaches feel distinct and rewarding and the dozens of different weapons and gadgets for each purpose gives you a lot of choices during combat.

The story and the characters are powerful with a few similar faces from previous titles making a comeback. Sam Fisher’s new voice actor may anger the series’ dedicated fans, though. You are thrown into a futuristic post-apocalyptic world as Aloy; the humanity was set back to a tribal-state again with bows and arrows, while there are animal-like, wild robots roaming the world. The game borrows a lot from other open-world action games with similar progression, climbing towers to unlock parts of the map and a half-stealth system. Its main focus is its satisfying, strategic combat that requires you to dodge and aim well while exploiting your enemies’ weak points. It’s original and mysterious world comes together beautifully with great gameplay, leaving you no choice to play it as a PS4 owner.

Just Cause 3

Just Cause 3 Just Cause series always came with the premise of “If you can see it, you can reach it.” level of open-world gameplay. With its second game blowing everyone away with its sheer map size, activities you can do, satisfying destruction system and dozens of different vehicles and gadgets, Just Cause 3 comes back to improve upon everything the second game brought to the table.

We all know what JC is about: Over the top action with tons of explosions, physics-defying combat, hijacking enemy vehicles and traversing the absolutely huge world with Rico’s grappling hook, wingsuit and parachute combo. It is one of the biggest, most fun open world games to date if you can get past its mediocre story that is just there to justify its extremely fun action.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain Before his leaving from Konami, Kojima gave us one more big prize: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. In the last entry to the legendary game series, we take control of the Big Boss once again to rebuild our Mother Base and take revenge from the ones that took it from us. As the deeply-customizable Saints boss, you have risen to the ultimate power; you are the USA president. Shortly after the election, the world gets invaded by aliens and you are given superpowers. Yes, that is Saints Row 4. With tons of upgradable vehicles, weapons, super powers and collectibles, there is a lot to consume here. Almost everything in the game is surrounded by humor and lack of seriousness and that is refreshing. Its goofy characters, over-the-top humor and amazing customization options in almost everything makes this one of the most fun times while playing a video game.

Middle-Earth: Shadow of War

Shadow of War Middle-Earth: Shadow of War, builds on the foundation of Shadow of Mordor in every way. The combat is even more satisfying with combos and brutal takedowns, the Nemesis system is improved and you can conquer forts now with your own brain-washed Uruk army.

The combat is better than ever. With tons of different weapons, powers, combos and well-animated finishing moves, coupled with great looking, satisfying gore, it is one of the best fighting experiences you’ll ever. When you couple it with the series’ revolutionary Nemesis system, it creates an unforgettable experience. All of the randomly generated Uruk generals and captains have different personalities and weaknesses, and their ranking system works naturally. If one of them kills you, they rank up and remember you when you come back for revenge. It feels personal.

Other than just slaughtering Uruks, you can brainwash them and add them to your own army to conquer different forts. It leads up to a final fight with that forts General for a challenging, satisfying and personal fight. It is an extremely fun and brutal complete package.

Far Cry 5

Far Cry 5 The fifth entry to the open-world FPS series, Far Cry 5 sets you against a radical religious group aiming to destroy the world. The game follows the same open-world formula that became a tradition with the third installment. A huge map with enemy outposts to capture and places to explore, the main story going after a big villain and many ways to traverse the map.

While it is not revolutionary in any sense, Far Cry 5 still manages to be fun with its core gameplay. The map and the 3 main regions are completely open for you to explore. The game almost doesn’t take itself seriously with all the over the top stuff you can do. The co-op option is much more prioritized this time with all different vehicles and different approaches you can take on missions. Even though it doesn’t try anything new, Far Cry 5 is a fun open-world game you can play with your friend.

Just like previous entries on the series, Max Payne 3 places a bullet-time mechanic to its gameplay’s core with multiple sections even forcing you to use. The levels flow really well with this system and action never goes down due to great level design and different action events and different settings. The story is told in a linear way, but once you start playing it, you won’t want to quit it.

Mad Max

Mad Max Welcome to the scorched world of Mad Max. There is no more civilization, only chaos, murder, and badass cars. Of course, you control Max and his car, Magnum Opus. You are in a post-apocalyptic open world full of maniacs, outposts, and warlords.
