The new season is approaching, and many are eager to speculate on the player ratings for the upcoming game, set to be unveiled on September 20th. As an eager fan and trained research paper writer, I couldn’t resist the temptation to make our predictions for the top ten Premier League players in EA FC 25.
Drawing inspiration from last season’s stellar performances, the recent Euros and Olympics, and pre-season form, we’re confident our list will capture the essence of our league’s elite talents.
Will the new signings make a strong enough impression to break into our top 10? And which familiar faces are guaranteed to be etched in stone as the cream of the crop with the game’s release?
Erling Haaland – 91
It’s hard not to crown Erling Haaland the highest rating so far, despite what many would say was on the back of a disappointing season. But 27 Premier League goals is quite a return, consecutively earning him the Golden Boot for the second season.
The Norwegian machine ended the season with a colossus of 36 goals from 35 matches in 2022-23, netting four separate hat-tricks and making an absolute mockery of those who doubted his second-season syndrome in England.
He was picked for PFA Player of the Season and looked nailed to pick up the Golden Boot after netting a goal in their season opener against Chelsea.
Rodri – 90
Unarguably a shoehorned contender for Ballon Dior, Rodri is undoubtedly the best No. 6 in world football today. Apart from consecutively winning the Premier League title for four seasons, he picked up the Euros for Spain, playing a pivotal role.
Moreover, we need to see an increase in his finishing ratings, currently at only 64, given the clutch moments he took the Citizens through last season. Also, his passing is underrated at only 80, but he might see a boost in September.
Van Dijk – 90
Many doubted and taunted him as ‘finished’ after Liverpool’s poor run-in 2021-22. But Virgil Van Dijk proved haters wrong by getting back on his A-game for the last run under Jurgen Klopp. He showed his mighty composure, quick decision-making, and leadership for the Reds’ backline again.
The Reds might have lost in a three-horse race for the title, but we marvel at the rejuvenated Netherlands defender. He deserves a 90 rating while aging with maturity and leading the backline under Arne Slot.
Kevin De Bruyne – 90
De Bruyne might have missed the first half of last season due to injury, but he returned to the side and quickly reminded everyone why he deserves a 90-rated card. His off-the-bench display against Newcastle, with a killer pass finished by Oscar Bobb, deserves all the praise.
The Belgian finished the season with 18 assists and six goals in 26 matches across all competitions. Moreover, he has 90 ratings on most stats, including short and long passing, 95 vision, and crossing.
Mo Salah – 89
The Egyptian King fails to make the 90-rated card this term. It’s not throwing sprite for the winger, but Liverpool has an underwhelming season, especially in attack and midfield. The standards for Salah are so high that another 30+ goal season will get him back on his A-game.
There are many moving parts for Liverpool, now living life after the Klopp era and finding ways with Arne Slot. He isn’t getting any younger and looks to finish the last season at Anfield before his contract expires. We would be happy if we’re proved wrong once again.
Allison – 89
Our tour of Anfield ends with arguably the best goalkeeper in the world. He has a potential 91, with one skill move and three weak feet. His presence in goal provides an ever-calming aura with his composure and world-class nature.
Last season, he continued showing his masterclass with elite shot-stopping, all-round distribution, and aerial prowess in claiming crosses. This made him completely trustworthy in the eyes of Jurgen Klopp. His absence was felt when he picked up an injury, and Kelleher had to stop in goal.
Phil Foden – 88
Given Pep’s tactics, picking a position for Phil Foden takes a lot of work. Sometimes, he’s on the right wing, in a 10, or on the left. Despite lacking a position to flourish in, Foden continues to showcase his plight as heir to Kevin De Bruyne.
After De Bruyne missed half of the season, Man City struggled with creativity. Foden stepped up to fill the shoes and finished the season with an impressive return of 19 goals and 8 assists in the league, making him PFA Player of the Season.
Bukayo Saka – 88
After another consecutive title bid, Starboy remains on a rising crescendo for the Gunners. Saka was phenomenal last season, often being the creativity output on the right win for Arsenal. Mikel Arteta fully trusts the winger, playing almost every game last season and only missing 10 games for both Arsenal and England.
He has found a knack for cutting inside and thunderbolt a strike or finding the far post for an assist. This proved quite difficult for defenders, often forcing managers to ‘gang up’ on him.
Martin Odegarrd – 88
Watching Martin Odegaard play is pure bliss and a touch of wizardry. The 25-year-old found the perfect system at Arsenal where he can dictate the game’s tempo. He’s not a numbers guy, but he needs someone to watch how he surveys the pitch, makes runs, makes mistakes, and finds killer passes to appreciate his mastery.
He has a 2-star weak foot and 5-star skill moves that give him the template to perform every skill move in the game. We need an increase in his physical stats, especially with stamina and aggression, as shown by how he leads the press for Arsenal.
