10 Best Gaming Mouse Under $50 – 2019

1. SteelSeries Rival 700

Very few gaming mouse can display the level of functionality and effectiveness while packing all the leading features, that Rival 700 boasts. And it doesn’t stop there – it is the only mainstream mouse that provides tactile feedback. Tactile feedbacks are customizable vibrations that vary with intensity and length depending on the action on your monitor.

It has a very comfortable matte top cover and the design allows for all grip types and hand shapes; though, like all gaming mice, it is slightly larger than normal and, strangely, doesn’t come with customizable finger rests. A very standard of 7 buttons placed in the most easily accessible locations on the mouse and its sides make this mouse ideal for just about any type of gamer!

If those weren’t enough, there’s an OLED screen to become the deal-maker (or, breaker?) – the screen can be customized to show just about any data in real-time; K-D ratios, CPU temp, or simply your gamer tag.

What We Like

  • Tactile Alerts and OLED screen.
  • Rated for 30 million click cycles.
  • Optical Sensor with 1ms polling rate and 1:1 accurate tracking.

What We Don’t Like

  • Not ideal for specialized gaming
  • The OLED screen seems a little gimmicky

Stay away from eBay in this case, they either have sellers asking for absurd prices, or questionable pictures that are not of Rival 700.

2. ASUS ROG Pugio

It is always our objective to get the most out of each dollar we spend. And, not always does the top-of-the-line product provide us value for our money. ASUS’s ROG Spatha is a good example. It comes with a lot of buttons that it is not designed to accommodate usefully, features most of us would never use and the others could do without, and a hefty price tag with nothing to justify it with.

In comparison, the Pugio is better than its big brother. It is more practical in design, infinitely more useful and definitely more affordable. It has a list of features that makes a lot of sense if considered together. The design is very refreshing and takes into account that there are, as a matter of fact, quite a lot of people who are left-handed and no less skilled a gamer because of that. Brilliant Aura RGB capabilities and the beautiful Mayan inspired engravings add to the finish and the result is a very beautiful but very deadly and accurate tool of domination in the right hands.

What We Like

  • Ambidextrous design with configurable buttons.
  • Aura RGB and Aura Sync support.
  • A crazy rating of 50 million clicks!
  • Smooth acceleration and 7200 DPI
  • Customizable and swappable buttons

What We Don’t Like

  • The Armoury software used for customization is not as easy to use as claimed
  • The absence of additional support or weight options
  • Aura Sync works best with ROG Claymore but sometimes makes strange color situations in the wave setting

3. Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum

As futuristic the name sounds Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum, it would have been a shame if the product had not been that good. Thankfully, it is good gaming mice, if not the best that money can get you, and surprisingly at very affordable rates! This G502 has it all – it is the serious thing, with custom additional weights that can be used to set the balance, 11 programmable mouse buttons, and 12000 DPI, these are the kind of stuff used in legendary speed-runs and nail-biting tournament finishers with the AWP.

Logitech gaming mouse stellar performance comes from a few reasons –

It has been surprisingly hard to write the PROs and CONs for the mice in this list due to their sheer awesomeness. The Logitech G502 is no different, it only makes our job even harder by looking so angle-y and Rainbow Six: Siege ready.

What We Like

  • 11 programmable buttons that are extremely durable
  • Adjustable weights
  • Superb ergonomics
  • Precise and stable

What We Don’t Like

  • heavy and looks way too angle-y

4. Corsair Glaive RGB

If SteelSeries’ Rival 700 was taken and combined with Mad Catz’s finest creations, we would get Glaive. Also from Corsair, it is the perfect combination of balance and looks.

Its beautiful modern look and the feeling of simply occupying the space inside the grip rather than being obtrusive makes it a very good choice for more casual gamers and live streamers. Its changeable finger rests also add to its value… The nearly perfect three-zone backlighting accentuating its suave looks.

What We Like

  • At the metaphorical sweet spot of balance, cost, function, and usability – there isn’t much to speak of that stands out as a feature.

What We Don’t Like

  • Similarly, there is really nothing that counts as a negative attribute of this mouse.

5. Razer DeathAdder Elite

Razer’s brilliant addition to their immense gaming peripheral line-ups is more affordable and more specialized than ASUS’s Pugio. It brings all the goodness of Pugio, in a smaller and significantly lithe profile that fits the palm quite comfortably due to its ergonomics. The DeathAdder Elite with Chroma support is considered the ultimate eSports mouse and with good reason –

As an alternative with a different look and design, consider the Razer Lancehead Tournament Edition or Basilisk, also on Amazon.

What We Like

  • 16000 DPI and 450 IPS makes this mouse the most accurate and fastest
  • Light and ergonomic
  • Responsive mechanical buttons with extended durability of 50 million clicks
  • Cheaper compared to its competitors.

What We Don’t Like

  • The lightweight might make it difficult to control for non-experienced gamers
  • Despite being an eSports winning tool, it is not easy to use in strategy games
  • It is decidedly Razer in build and design – not good news for Razer haters (not a lot of people thankfully)

6. HyperX Pulsefire Surge

For our last main entry, we went the slick and stylish looks of Pulsefire Surge. It looks deceptively simple, almost making its place in any office – only for its brilliant RGB lighting. And superb handling. And the Omron buttons that provide similar ratings like the Rival 700 or the ROG Pugio. And the smooth curve that screams class.

Okay, we will stop.

There isn’t much to be said about the mouse except that it has all the standard ratings, high DPI, etc. The reason it is here is the design – even though we felt it might be uncomfortable for long hours, after physically testing one for a whole day playing Hearts Of Iron 4, we can say that it is just as comfortable in the hand as any other.

Sorry about the price tag, but style comes at great cost

7. Corsair Dark Core RGB SE

In our opinion one of the best wireless gaming mouse models in the market today. There was a time when no self-respecting gamer would use a wireless mouse, but those days are long gone.

Wireless mice have been a strict no-no for gamers forever – but, Corsair’s very stylish, very mystic and very ‘gaming’ mouse changes that. Dark Core does what not many could think of achieving at a price point that is barely believable – it is the best wireless mouse that has 1ms response time and up to 16000 DPI! And with Qi wireless charging enabled, you can charge your phone on a supported mouse pad while playing and then charge your mouse on the same pad when you are done gaming.

If you are not a stickler for wired gaming mice for their tried and tested products, then this mouse ain’t got a con, if you don’t mind paying a little extra for the nice bragging rights.

What We Like

  • Wireless mouse and supports Qi charging
  • 16000 DPI and 1ms response time (not so common for wireless mic)’
  • Gorgeous lighting and nice futuristic design.

What We Don’t Like

8. DRAGONWAR ELE-G9

Here’s a fun fact – being the button smashing First Person Shooter lover I am, I found my match in a heavily customized and reskinned Dragonwar ELE-G9 rip off from China which is also a best budget gaming mouse.

The original series is very good, but the rip off was surprisingly good as well. It cost me $10 and survived my tortures for two years before it failed. Then I switched to the original G9, only to find that the quality was almost the same! So, I had the G9 modified and reskinned as well – the result is an awesome mouse that serves my escapades into Assassin’s Creed Black Flag, Far Cry 3 and all the Call Of Duty and Battlefield titles that are still playable even today.

9. Razer Naga Trinity – MOBA/MMO

Its mechanical thumb grid of 12 programmable buttons is a thing of legends. We doubt if there’s ever been a better mouse to play MMOs and MOBAs with.

Despite its almost uselessness in other types of games – if you are playing the latest MMO that came out in Steam, you want this in your hand.

10. Mad Catz RAT 6+

This mouse looks devilishly angular and has more customization options than probably the on-screen weapon it is controlling.

Its roguish looks are matched by its equally durable buttons and parts. Couple that to the high precision and acceleration – and you get what only a Mad Catz device can offer.

Rounding Up

The list, like most of ours, does not come in top 10 format. They do not appear in any sort arranged rank system… they are all parts of the list and most likely aimed at different types of gamers according to their special requirements.

Consider the best gaming mouse under $50 list to be only a recommendation – since there is always that one mouse that will suit you and stick with you, and may not be present in this list. Or, as newer devices with even better technology are released, this list will definitely become outdated – hopefully not soon. Keep an eye out for our updated lists, always!
